Board Approves Water District 6 Rate Increase and Infrastructure Project

NY STILLWATER — Stillwater Board approves Water District 6 rate increase amid aging infrastructure challenges. The rate rises 25 cents per thousand gallons from $7.60 to $7.85, effective October 1, costing the average household $2.25 per month. Supervisor Ed Kinowski told the board that actual water district costs reached $776,000 against a budgeted $577,799, driven by aging infrastructure repairs and customer service expansion supporting an anticipated 600-dwelling-unit population increase.
The board simultaneously approved three resolutions authorizing a comprehensive three-phase improvement project including a booster pump station on Cordero Boulevard, a water circulation loop on Graves Road, and water main replacement in the Riverside area.
